Artists seem to search for reinforcement of their ability. I am a fan of the favouriting system here on DA as it provides this, although I would love it if people also took the time to comment when faving to say why they like a particular piece.

My unicorn tattoo design just got its 100th fave. While this pales in comparison to other artists who receive thousands this is something very important to me. So, to all who faved it, thank you so much!
